Meet the Attorneys

Jeffrey Kyle Anderson

Jeffrey Kyle Anderson -

Mr. Anderson is a founding partner of Anderson, Moschetti and Taffany in Latham, New York; and also of Litigation Resolution Services. Since graduation from Colgate University and Albany Law School, he has principally represented personal injury and wrongful death clients and has substantial experience in the litigation, settlement and trial of those cases. Mr. Anderson regularly speaks at CLE programs on personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, workplace injuries and trial practice, and has also lectured to attorneys on mediation and arbitration practice. He authored a chapter on Products Liability Law for the two volume treatise entitled The Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Action in New York, published by the New York State Bar Association in 2008; updated in 2013.

In the area of alternative dispute resolution, as early as 1994 Mr. Anderson served as a mediator during Settlement Term in Supreme Court, Rensselaer County and also Albany County Supreme Court. Since 2009, he has mediated and arbitrated over 500 personal injury, wrongful death, commercial and business loss cases. In addition to serving as an arbitrator for the Albany County Arbitration Program, he has been an active member of the Dispute Resolution Section of the New York State Bar Association. He also served as Co-Liaison to the Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section, and presently serves as a member of the Arbitration Committee, Mediation Committee, and ADR in the Courts Committee. Mr. Anderson also teaches a course entitled "Alternative Dispute Resolution" to second and third year law students at Albany Law School.

In 2010 Mr. Anderson completed an intensive program in mediation and arbitration training through the Harvard Negotiation Institute at Harvard Law School. In 2014 he attended and completed commercial mediation training at Fordham Law School, sponsored by the New York State Bar Association.

James E. Hacker

James E. Hacker -

Mr. Hacker is a founding partner of Hacker & Murphy, LLP. Prior to his affiliation with this firm, he was a partner with the Albany law firm of Maynard, O’Connor & Smith. Mr. Hacker is a graduate of Hamilton College and Albany Law School of Union University.

He has been a practicing trial attorney for twenty-five years, representing individuals, corporations and insurance carriers in a variety of civil and commercial litigation matters in State and Federal Courts.

Mr. Hacker was appointed by the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York as a neutral evaluator ten years ago. He has served as a mediator and arbitrator in over 250 cases involving a wide range of topics, including motor vehicle liability, product liability, medical malpractice, employment litigation, commercial litigation and insurance coverage.

Mr. Hacker has an AV Rating from Martindale Hubbell and has been named to Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers.

Paul Jureller

Paul Jureller -

Mr. Jureller graduated from Albany Law School in 1992. While at Albany Law, he was Legal Developments Editor of the Albany Law Review. Since that time, he has been practicing law with the firm of Thorn, Gershon, Tymann and Bonanni, LLP, where he is a partner. His practice has primarily been devoted to handling personal injury cases. He has substantial experience with all types of tort litigation, with a strong focus in the medical malpractice and products liability fields.

Mr. Jureller received his mediation training from Harvard Law School (Program on Negotiation) and the American Bar Association. He has been mediating cases for several years, both privately and through the Northern District of New York’s mandatory ADR program. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section.

Mr. Jureller is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Northern District of New York, Western District of New York, Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York and the Second Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Justinian Honorary Law Society, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Albany County Bar Association, Schenectady County Bar Association, Italian-American Bar Association, and American Inns of Court.

Mark Sonders

Mark Sonders -

Mr. Sonders has been admitted to practice in New York State and Federal courts since 1973. A graduate of Syracuse University and Albany Law School, he was a managing equity partner with the law firm Bouck, Holloway, Kiernan & Casey, LLP for 24 years before its merger with Hiscock & Barclay, LLP in 2004. There, he was an equity partner until his retirement from full time practice in 2008. Mr. Sonders is now “Of Counsel” to the law firm of Hacker & Murphy, LLP in Latham, New York where he is responsible for a variety of matters including mediations and arbitrations.

During his years of practice, Mr. Sonders represented defendants and plaintiffs in personal injury, property and insurance matters focusing his practice on product liability defense, fraud defense and insurance contract matters.

Mr. Sonders is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell, was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2001 and was named to New York Super Lawyers in 2009.
